Hi, nice little blog. The Dwarf 2nd from left is actually an old Fantasy Tribes Dwarf from Citadel. The Games Workshop range was the FTD line (FTD2 Dwarf with Light Crossbow), from Games Workshop's early years!

Thanks a lot for your comment! That's exactly why I put the info online, to offer some tools for saving (mostly old and dear) metal minis!
So I'm happy you've found it useful... and yes, after the process I, too, am scrubbing them with an old toothbrush and some light-soapy water, then alcohol to remove it. I will add this step in the article, thanks!

I know this article is almost 5 years old, but I wanted to thank you for it. Because of this article I was able to save over a dozen rare and out of print minis from my collection. It also is a good way to strip old minis without using smelly and dangerous organic solvents.

I also wanted to suggest to you that as soon as you remove the mini from the carbonate solution, you should rinse it with water and scrub the black residue off with a brush. I then immediately submerge the mini in 91% isopropyl alcohol to drive out the water. Then I brush it some more with alcohol and let it dry.

The result is a darker but shiny mini.

Hello Hughval and thank you for your comment!
Yes, these were some really awesome minis! Unfortunately I don't have all the Funny Fantasies figures... the Slamanewt and the "Have a nice day" Beholder are still missing from my collection...
However you can find some pics and info HERE, on Lost Minis Wiki (great site!).

Also, Mirliton from Italy acquired from defunct Stratelibri ("old" Stratelibri was the official Grenadier Italian distributor) some of Grenadier licenses, masters and moulds, so they still have the Diner Mi-Go in their catalog HERE (thank you Mirliton!).

If you're interested you can also find information about Grenadier, Stratelibri and Mirliton in the following:
- A discussion HERE on another great website, The Miniatures Page
- Excellent Terence Gunn's books about Grenadier (you can find one of his projects on Kickstarter HERE)
- Wikipedia, of course.

Hello Jim, the value depends on the condition of the miniatures and box, also on the type of other Ral Partha figures you have. I'll send you an email with some more details!

I just opened my old miniatures box from 20-odd years ago, and found this same set intact, in it's original box, with 2 exceptions-
1) the picture sheet does not have that separate text sheet, just the sheet with the pictures
2) NO invisible stalker.

The box also had nine other figures in it, also;
One I recognise as the Adventurer with everything's
The others seem to be a mix of a few unknowns, and several
High Quality Ral Partas...
ANY IDEA OF THE VALUE?
Feel free to contact me, I'm retired.
